Starting Again, for the 11th time
May 31, 2026
Here we go again! I’ve tired of the experience of trying to write and communicate my thoughts with friends and acquaintances on pretty much every social media platform. Whether it’s LinkedIn, X, Mastodon, pick your social media platform, they all end up with the noise greatly outweighing the signal. The introduction of Generative AI as the go-to way of many people for authoring their posts, often with very little attempt at cleaning up what the robot writes, or fact-checking it, or generally spending any time or effort to be real, hasn’t helped the situation.
In response to my general frustration I’m going to try to go back to blogging again. I will likely write short posts mostly. Some of these posts I will mark for friends only, which means if I don’t accept you into my shortlist of friends, then you’ll never see those posts. I’ll also try to write posts for the general public, mostly when it doesn’t put me or my family at risk in some way. I’ll probably talk about DNSimple quite a bit, as well as other stuff that interests me like music, surfing, gaming, travel, etc. All of my posts will be written by me, not by GenAI. Full disclosure: I am using Claude Code to build this blogging system. Maybe I’ll write about that experience as well at some point.
I’m enabling commenting on this blog as well, but you have to identify yourself first if you want to comment. We’ll see how that part goes. Hell, maybe no one will care enough to write something in response to my posts.
That’s it for now, off we go.

In the name of the open web, I tried signing in with an email. I think it didn’t work because it hadn’t seen me before. So, in keeping it developers, I went the GitHub route. That’s all to say, I cared an awful lot and now here I am writing something in response.
