Seeing White Podcast

Thanks to my friend Paul Campbell for telling me about the Seeing White episodes from Scene on Radio. Released between February and August 2017, this series explores whiteness: where it came from, what does it mean, and what purpose does it serve? Learning how race is a man-made construct created to justify the exploitation of humans and to control access to resources and rights isn’t something I remember ever being taught in school, which isn’t surprising given I went through the US educational system in the 80’s and 90’s. The podcast scratches the surface of race, racism, and the use of race to exploit others and centralize power in the hands of one group of people. It’s worth a listen, perhaps even more so now, even though it’s been out for almost ten years.
