Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere

When I posted on LinkedIn about restarting blogging, Nathan Hessler (Linked In Profile) suggested I look into POSSE, which stands for Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere. I decided to give it a try and start with posting an excerpt to LinkedIn when I post to my blog. This is the first attempt. If this works correctly, then an excerpt plus a link to the post will appear as a post from me on LinkedIn as soon as I post this.

Edit: it works! As an added bonus I’m adding in support for LinkedIn as an identification platform in addition to an email magic link, GitHub, and Google. There are definitely some “fiddly-bits” in LinkedIn that needed to be handled before it worked, as well as some nuances with OAuth access token lifetime, but even so it’s a relatively low bar of entry to start.
